In essentie onderscheiden we drie verschillende glasdeuren:
- Glazen buitendeur
- Glazen binnendeur
- Douchedeur
Alle deuren worden geleverd in gehard glas, waarmee het glas vijf keer sterker wordt dan ongehard glas. Daarnaast is gehard glas ook een stuk veiliger bij breuk. Mocht een gehard paneel breken, dan valt het in kleine dobbelsteen-achtige stukjes uit elkaar. Het risico dat iemand zich daar ernstig mee verwond is daarmee veel kleiner.
Deuren moeten beschikken over een bepaalde robuustheid, daarom hanteren wij een minimale glasdikte van 8 millimeter.
Glazen buitendeur
Een glazen buitendeur wordt vaak toegepast bij het entrée van winkels. Vaak worden deze deuren gemonteerd met een pendel scharnier, waarmee de deur feitelijk twee draairichtingen heeft.
Glazen binnendeur
Glazen binnendeuren vragen om speciale aandacht. Huizen zijn door de jaren heen gebouwd met steeds weer andere typen kozijnen. Zo zijn er kozijnen geschikt voor stompe deuren, of opdekdeuren. Links of rechtsdraaiende draaiende deuren, of misschien wel een schuifdeur. Een ding is zeker: een glazen deur is een verrijking voor vrijwel iedere ruimte. Door de lichtdoorval van een glasdeur toont de ruimte groter en geeft het de ruimte een chique uitstraling. Daarbij is een deur van gehard glas erg sterk en dus ook veilig.
